No data collected
Kanaya requires no account, shows no ads and uses no analytics or tracking tools. The app does not send any personal data to its publisher or to third parties.
What stays on your device
Your progress (kana, words and kanji studied, answers, review dates), language, theme and reminder time are stored only in the app's private storage on your device, and deleted with the app. Exporting your progress creates a file that you choose where to save or share. Reminders are local notifications and pronunciation uses the device's text-to-speech.
Purchases
The Kanaya Complete purchase is handled entirely by the app store (Apple's App Store or Google Play). The publisher receives neither your name, nor your email address, nor your payment details: the app only checks with the store that the purchase was made. That data is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policy. On Android, Google's billing library may send technical diagnostic information to Google.
Children
Kanaya collects no data, including from children.
